Happy Leap Day!!!
Okay L so the Fijian Word of the week (and last one
probably) is Joy which is Marau so you say it like you do tomorrow but you
take off the "to" so morrow and add one of those tongue rrr
rolls to the middle r's or if you cant do that just do a d sound so
modow. Okay well hope that made since!
So we got our Transfer call this week and I will be staying
in Olympia and getting Sister Trost ( sounds like toast but with an r) which is
now Sister Gunnell's companion and Sister Sokoiwasa will be going to Silverdale
to be companions with Sister Gunnell. So it is like a long distance transfer
but not! Sister Gunnell if you don't remember came out with me from the MTC so
ya pretty awesome she will love her.
So nothing super exciting happened this week for me but I
have been reflecting on the Atonement and how I can more fully take advantage
of it. So I have been praying for help before I read the scriptures in the
morning for a better understanding. So Saturday there was a stake women's
conference and one of the classes was on patience. She O talked about how she
has M.S. and has had it for like 26 years and it keeps getting worse to where
she is now in a wheel chair. She mentioned that she doesn't feel like the
Atonement is working for her and in a fast and Testimony meeting all of the
talks were about the Atonement working for them. after sacrament she was just
so mad at Jesus for helping all of these other people and not herself so she
left and took the car and drove around. finally after a few hours she came home
and her husband happens to be the bishop of the Olympia 3rd ward, where I am
at, and it is not good if he is home when he has meetings...... anyways they
talked about it and how she is just so angry and he said that when
she wakes up she is so full of joy to go to work, even though she has
M.S. she still has joy, she comes home and makes cookies for the kids and
dinner for the kids with joy, etc... living the gospel to its fullest and
that that is the Atonement working on her. and that also clicked for me as
well. V
Even though a mission is tough my back and feet kill I get
tension and sinus headaches, as I'm living the gospel and obeying all of the
rules and trying my best and realize that I need Help and Ask for Help from
God, that burden is lifted from me which is the Atonement to where I also feel
joy and happiness when I work. I also read from the past General Conference from
Elder Oaks on the Atonement that helped my understanding grow as well Alma
Chapter 31 and now it clicked! now I understand for myself. But It didn't come
when I first Prayed E for help I had to keep asking
Well I love you all!!!
