HAPPY LATE THANKSGIVING AND ITS BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!!

Well Thanksgiving was great but I'll admit I still liked it better in the MTC! But Ya our day started pretty normal with Studies and it was cool I read two conference talks that went along great with Thanksgiving the first from President Eyring called Gratitude on the Sabbath and to remember to be Thankful every time we partake of the Sacrament and for having the gift of the Holy Ghost anyways it was super great! then I also read the President Nelson Talk called Joy and Spiritual Survival. He says the word JOY so many times that I circled it every time I saw it and it filled the page... I should have counted how many times but that just gives you the excuse to read it and to count how many times and let me know!!!

Then we went to this single women's home and she made us yummy Thai Peanut chicken strips in this yummy peanut butter type sauce I thought it tasted soooo good but Sister Codling doesn't like nuts so thought it was gross but she was missing out :)! Then went to another family and had snacks and Got to set up their pretty Thanksgiving table!!!! So that was fun! Then at another families we were able to have the typical Thanksgiving Dinner which was good and also got a lot of leftovers! Then we felt very special to be invited to the Blatter's home that evening to have pie and also to help set up the Christmas tree!!! It was great to be able to see one of my trainers this week- Sister Krebs.

Also Surprise! Tonight we will be getting a third sister joining us for three weeks named Sister Adams! She is from Olympia so I know her and will be doing a mini mission which is serving and a full time Missionary for 3 weeks. It should be fun!!! Oh also I went on exchanges with Sister Bolos who was my MTC companion and that was great! We work so well together- it was great!

Thanks for everything everyone does for me! I truly am so blessed to have everyone in my life that is apart of it. I am especially thankful to have the Savior on my side because without him I really am nothing... Love ya all thanks!

Others pictures from this week.

From Camille's mom - I  got a surprise phone call from Heather Telford who is currently in Camille's ward.  She called to ask if I could send her a recipe that would remind Camille of home.  I sent both a stroganoff on baked potatoes and Mexican Supper recipe.  She said this is what her dad did and she also wants to follow suite by asking missionary parent's what their missionaries favorite meal is and then make it for them.  Camille was pretty excited to be fed a delicious meal last night.  The following was from Heather Telford.

Hi Sister Beck!

I just wanted you to know that your lovely daughter and Sister Codling just left to do their tracting for the evening. I made the Stroganoff and Potatoes and it was a big hit :) This plan to cook recipes from home helps me out bigtime by adding in some new things to our meal routine and gives my children a chance to try new things.

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. We really love having the sister missionaries in our home. They bring such a sweet spirit and the evening was spent enjoying each other's company in stories and laughter.

Have a wonderful rest of your Sabbath! Here is a photo of my family along with your daughter and her companion.

Much love and gratitude,

Heather Telford

Hey Everyone!!!!! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving Week thinking of all we truly have to be grateful for!

So about a week ago we knocked into this man named Ruban who is 7th day Adventas (however that's spelled...) and he didn't really understand what he believed the Godhead to be and so I explained to the best of my knowledge that you probably believe in the Trinity and explained it to him about how we believe that they are 3 separate beings 1 in purpose. And he was like oh that makes so much sense! And then we had a lesson with him and taught him the Plan of Salvation only up to the Atonement and with Adam and Eve.  And more fully understanding the Atonement that it really got him thinking about all of this knowledge that makes so much sense to him but he has never heard it all growing up in his church.... It was cool how I could just picture him going to the Temple and getting Baptized and getting the priesthood during this lesson and how happy it would make him feel! We will hopefully put him on date this week and start talking to his wife as well. Oh it was also so cool to see him realize that the Atonement is so personal to him and he has recently had alot happen to him to humble him and he realized that this is why so that he could learn what the Gospel has to offer to him!

I truly am so Grateful for all of the Knowledge we do have for Where we came from? Why we are here? and Where we are going and it is a message centered on love and happiness and it points to the Savior!

Also not sure if everyone knows but December 1st is going to be a day of service and would love for everyone to join the world and the churches Effort to #lighttheworld!

HEYO!!!!!!!

So still doing great - we are teaching this lady named Kristin who is from somewhere in West Africa and she speaks French and a little English so we have been relying on the French pamphlets to teach her! But we also have French speakers in the ward that help! Also Sister Codling and I will be staying together another Transfer and will be together for at least Thanksgiving and Christmas! So that's exciting!

So I read this talk called "Becoming the Person You Were Born to Be" by Wendy Watson Nelson given at a Worldwide Devotional for young adults at the beginning of this Year and It has helped change the way I look at the Atonement and how to be able to access it. It talks about the women who had an incurable disease for 12 years stretched forth her hand to the Savior this being the only chance for her to be healed. She also mentions other things but they all have to do with being DESPERATE for the Savior to heal them... etc. She goes on to say " Gratefully, the Savior has paid the price for every gift of the Spirit we will ever need to help us.  It’s up to us to prayerfully discover which gifts we need. We may need the gift of self-discipline or of cheerfulness. Perhaps we need the gift of patience, or the gift to be healed, or the gift to forgive......Perhaps we realize that we cannot live one more minute without the gift of unshakable faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. When we’re desperate for any gift of the Spirit, that is when we will finally pray with all the energy of heart for that gift.  And the great news is that each spiritual gift we receive takes us one more step forward into our true selves."

So I read this and thought about me and how I got into the car accident back in January (Sorry I never told anyone about it besides my family) and how I've had a lot of back and neck pain that came from it. I Knew that my Savior had suffered this pain for me but I just didn't know how to use it... I would read the Scripture Alma 7:11-12 over and over again knowing that he can succor me but how?

11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and affliction and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.
Well when I read this I figured Yes I am Desperate for this pain to go away that hasn't for months! So a few days ago I started to Pray to my loving Heavenly Father For Divine help because I'm desperate for this to go away!!!! I would pray for the Gift of the Spirit to be Healed and this morning when I woke up it was the first time in forever that I woke up not feeling super sore and achy all over. And I know that that has nothing to do with the Physical Therapy I've been getting recently but Everything to do with My Savior who its truly lifting this burden and Helping me to understand the Atonement to a whole other level! I love my Savior and I truly am nothing without him leading and guiding me every second of the day!

Hello Everyone!!!!!

Well so we are still earnestly praying for a family to teach and help out but it is just taking some time but God's timing is just always so important!

So we talked to some people this week and we had 2 instances where they have always been really good friends to Mormons but never had the opportunity to read the Book of Mormon and when we asked if they would like a copy they were so excited to be able to receive a copy to read for themselves! So we have been talking to members about missionary work and with this fresh on our minds Sister Codling and I just wondered why those friends never just took courage and gave them one-  it had to come from the missionary's? So we were trying to find a scripture to go along with it and Sister Codling opened to this one that is a perfect scripture!

Alma 5:62 " 62 I speak by way of command unto you that belong to the church; and unto those who do not belong to the church I speak by way of invitation, saying: Come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye also may be partakers of the fruit of the tree of life."

So we as members of the church are commanded to invite everyone to be able to experience this JOY of the gospel and to invite others to know and feel what we are able to feel as members! Also think of why you love the Gospel so much? Now don't be afraid to share that with those around you even less actives because they are truly missing out on being eternally happy and to have Joy!

Well Love you all and hope your able to share with those around you this tree of life!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well right now Sister Codling and I don't have anyone on date for baptism.... the ones we were working with had to unexpectedly move from their home..... :( But it's fine we have a lot of investigators and I know Heavenly Father has something big in store for us right around the corner!!!!!

So President Blatter (and it's not pronounced like your bladder but like water with a bl) Went to this cool conference with other mission presidents to be trained and I guess Elder Rasband was there and President Blatter asked him if he were to be a mission president today what would he do and he said that he would Help the Missionaries Learn to love the Lord more! And so Last night President was telling us this and had this realization that as we truly focus on Christ and not on obedience or being a more consecrated missionary but on Christ all of those things will happen and much more! This is just what we tell people that "We all have Challenges, but with the Savior and his teachings the gospel will help you." As we focus our whole being on Christ and  who he is and what he has done for us... we will grow to know the Savior more and it will also be in our character.... For 5th Sunday yesterday our Bishop showed these cool videos and I loved this one with Elder Holland.  He had so much emotion when he spoke for the Savior and him dying for us so we don't ever have to do that sacrifice on our own because Christ paid that price. Anyways I realized that I want to be able to Love the Savior as much as Elder Holland does and strive to follow Christ's Example in all that I say and Do so others can recognize me as a Disciple of Jesus Christ. Here's the video below and ya it is amazing Because Christ Truly does understand me, Individually and everyone else!

Thanks for everything and hope all of the Halloween celebrations are the best!
