Hello and God Bless the USA!!!!

Well I didn't watch the inauguration but heard Motab sang and I learned this week something really cool about them! I guess a seventy told Sister Stephen's mom or something that when you hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing that you also can hear Angels singing along with them and so if you ever have like a weird spirit with you or don't feel good or anything just turn it on and you will feel more comfort/  Knowing that this week has helped me out a lot as we listen to Motab. Sister Stephens said just imagine like Nephi and Captain Moroni and cool people just singing with them and that was powerful!!!

So the work is good - we are teaching Gary who is marrying a member in our ward and they are both in like there 60s. Gary is an ex Jehovah's Witness so he knows a lot of info already but doesn't agree with the JWs but knows what we share is true. We asked him to be baptized and he said yes but we have to wait till he can get work off to come to church before we can set a date. He has already come to church that Christmas Sunday and enjoyed it so we will see!

So yesterday in Sacrament all of the talks were on Missionary work and I really enjoyed one talk in particular by Sister Telford. She talked about how she has moved a lot over the years and she has always noticed something and that being that she needs to find good doctors, dentists, car places, plumbers, etc that she can rely on and trust. There are a lot of ways she can find out who is good the internet, etc but the one she normally rely on is word of mouth by those she hasn't really even known for very long but she trusts them. This is the same with Missionary work- when you have questions about your Salvation you go to those you trust. I really liked that analogy because I have seen that being a missionary and the importance trust is in helping others listen. When I just say something like hey do you want to be baptized? The response isn't always the best because they don't trust me yet but as I say oh I like your shirt or just talk normal and include the gospel into it, others are more receptive to it because the trust is there. But a lot of times you have friends that are less active or non members that they trust you a lot to listen to you and so when they are struggling or ask you a question it can be a simple as saying "Well I know this is what has brought me a lot of comfort to know..." or "I know in my life when I have turned to the Lord..." or "Something that I believe is that..." Then just bear your testimony on how its helped you out and they will listen because they trust you!

Well love you all so much and hope you have a great week!

Hey everyone!!!

So I was able to go to the temple and I just loved it!!! I even got to do initiatories and the endowment session with family names! I got to see Sister Pen and Sister Kramer and got to spend time with them while Sister Stephens got to go with Sister Bolos (MTC comp) to do baptisms all the way to the endowment with the same family name which is so cool! I had a cool experience in the temple with just sitting in the temple workers chapel waiting for all of the missionary's to come so we can have a devotional with one of the counselors of the temple presidency and then the Blatters spoke and I was looking at this huge picture-  the resurrected Christ looking at Mary and I have been praying to have a better relationship with Christ. I all of a sudden wondered if he were to walk into that room right now what would I do? Would I really fall to my knees and kiss his feet like in the Testaments or what. And then with the feeling of almost tears I knew I would totally kneel down and cry for thanks for all My Savior has done for me in my life because he sure has done a lot! I wouldn't be able to get through this mission without him in my life. He is truly filled with so much love.... Same with my mission President- President Blatter! He loves us all so much and would drop anything to help us when we fall down! I know the Gospel is true and can't deny it! The temple is so important and each time I go it is another Testimony of how much Heavenly Father really does love us as his children! Well love ya all!

Hey everyone! So it was great because Gwen was Baptized!!!!! SO even thought she wasn't baptized in Chambers Creek... she was in YSA and that is so much better for her and she had this great fellowship named Jasmine who was just baptized a couple of months ago and is awesome! When WE first saw Gwen she was so excited to see us and said how she is going to go to the temple and can't wait! She even had her wallpaper as the Salt Lake temple. Then I showed her my favorite temple, the Manti Temple, and she loved it! She also said that she might go on a mission herself! Oh she will be such a cute Sister Missionary. She was even a good missionary and brought her best friend Tina who is Catholic so we hope it works out with her! Then her baptism was so sweet and she is just so happy and elect!  I'm sure I've said this before but helping someone find the gospel brings so much joy and makes missions so worth it! Gwen was cute and asked when I will get home and I told her June and she said okay when we get home can we go to the mall? and I said I would love too and Elder Turley who baptized her too said can I come and it was a hard no! HAHA so cute!

Well then I had exchanges with Sister Pen and that was fun! And good lessons with Layla and Sadie! We helped them decorate their BOMs so they were cute and so they will read it more and they loved that!

Well have a great week and keep trying to follow Christ... Oh ya I also finished the Book of Mormon and it felt so great and loved the last part in Moroni 10:32-33 32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.

33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.

Love this so much and so decided in my next reading that I will focus fully on Jesus Christ!

January 2, 2017

Hey!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR - CRAZY ITS 2017!!!!

So this week was pretty great! It was sad to say goodbye to Sister Codling but Sister Stephens is great too! So I can't remember if I told you all but Sister Pen gave us a referral for Gwen Lee and she came to church... Loved it... we taught her a lesson and watched the restoration video and oh man she is so elect!!!!!!! Then Saturday we had a lesson with the assistants to hand her over because she is YSA... and the lesson was resto again focusing on baptism because she was wanting to wait till she finished the BOM ( which she totally could because she is flying through it we committed her to read 2 Nephi 2 and so she did but she also read from the very beginning to there and I guess that's all she does in her spare time... on the bus, etc. and she has this note pad just for the BOM that she writes notes in it like words she doesn't know so she looks them up and writes them in and also her first language is Vietnamese and wanted to read it in English so so cool!) with the APs help we put her on date for January 8th and focused on how when you're baptized you get the gift of the holy ghost and you don't want to wait for it and that got her! We had to say good bye and she was sad but she will be fine- it will be a lot better in the YSA ward!

So for a while now we have been visiting with this member Sister Scott's and she told us how her Granddaughters who are 10 and 9 and aren't baptized yet but love church, and will be coming to live with her because of parent issues and will eventually adopt them. So they just got here this week and so they came to church yesterday and want to be baptized and taught them last night. The only problem is that Sister Scott isn't sure when they can get baptized with legal issues but I definitely think this is a tender mercy!!!!! Their names are Layla and Sadie and such sweet girls but they were board yesterday so we need to do better at making the lessons fun!

Well I still love it out here and don't ever want it to end! I know its true and I can't deny it!

This is from transfers!
