Hello!!!!

So the Cambodian word of the week is Joob rib lea sue ul which you say as an honer of respect to elderly as you put your hands together and slightly bow.

So as a mission we have been focusing on the amount of kneeling prayers with the investigator saying it so our goal was 450 as a mission and we got 551 which is great! It is pretty powerful to have them saying it especially when they have never prayed before. SO we have been wanting to teach Charony who is our recent convert Sarouen 15 year old step daughter and we went over last night to teach her. We talked to her about the restoration and all she would say is that is makes sense. Even though her mom is a less active, she never taught her kids about it and would go to the Buddest temple once a year for the new year and that's the closest she ever got to religion. But at the end we were able to put her on date for baptism and the spirit was so strong! We also showed her how to say her first prayer and it was all full of thanks which was awesome! She is so elect it's great and it helps that her parents are both members. We also gave her a BOM and she is excited to read it and so we will see tonight.

Sister Pen had a great Birthday and we were able to surprise her for district meeting with a surprise birthday party! It was a fun day and she got minion stuff which she loved.

Thanks for everything!

Hey everyone!!!!!!!

So the Cambodian word is Bre-hey-sue Cree So this is Jesus Christ and the first word Bre you roll the R and it sounds like a Bure like the cool hats the Italians wear.. sorry I don't know how to spell it but there you go.

So it was amazing- we were able to Baptize Sarouen Song on Saturday and it was just great! The spirit was just so strong and we had people crying including his wife who is a less active recently returning named Kon and we are starting to teach some of the children too in hopes that when the time comes they can all get sealed together! Then yesterday he was able to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and our WML gave him the blessing and it was powerful and included taking his family to the Temple which is amazing!

I just love this so much because this is what the Gospel is all about! Uniting families together for Time and all Eternity to be able to live with our loving Heavenly Father again and it starts with Baptism! Thanks for all of the prayers and please pray that our investigators will be able to resist the power of Satan because he is just so real! Love you all!

HEY!!!!!
So the Cambo word of the week is Klun Klee-en which means I'm hungry!

So Sister Pen was looking through the formers and came across someone named Saruean. So he is Cambodian and his wife is a less active member and so He had been to church 3 times and we were not sure why they stopped visiting him and so we stopped by and set up an appointment with him because he was still interested in learning more... so we came to the lesson with our recent convert Reny and Keven and Leakenah joined us and then with Brother Wheelock our Ward Mission Leader. I guess his concern for why he wasn't baptized was because of tithing and after we cleared that up we put him on date for Sep. 17th. It was a great Lesson! So then he came to our ward social and had a great time and then wasn't going to come to church this week but next week for sure. well then they met this active Cambodian Member who just got here and she was all excited that he was getting baptized and was talking to Saruean and his wife and said that she knows the church is true and not sure exactly what she said but it made it so Saruean and his wife were able to come to church yesterday and they were just both so happy and it was great that the wife was able to talk to Reny in Cambodian and be her friend rather than just talking to Sister Pen. It is just so great!!!!!

So lately I've been studying more about our Baptismal covenants and really loved what it said in True to the Faith about it:

When you take upon yourself the name of Jesus Christ, you see yourself as His.  You put Him and His work first in your life.  You seek what He wants rather than what you want or what the world teaches you to want.  In the Book of Mormon, King Benjamin explains why it is important to take the name of the Savior upon ourselves:

“There is no other name given whereby salvation cometh; therefore, I would that ye should take upon you the name of Christ, all you that have entered into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of your lives.  And it shall come to pass that whosoever doeth this shall be found at the right  hand of God, for he shall know the name by which he is called; for he shall be called by the name of Christ.  And now it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall not take upon him the name of Christ must be called by some other name; therefore, he that findeth himself on the left hand of God” (Mosiah 5:8-10)

It’s amazing that this simple line in the sacrament prayer is so powerful and important in our lives and how this includes doing missionary work every chance we get. I love Christ so much and Know I can always do better but that's what the Atonement is all about right? Well love ya all and have a great week!!!

HAPPY LABOR DAY EVERYONE!!!!
I hope it is a great week and weekend for everyone.

So the cambo word of the week is Beetea bon ja-moo tu which means Baptism and Ya I tried to spell it how you say it so hope you're saying it right....

Well so some more take aways I had with the General Authorities was how when they talked about Eternal perspective and I have always had this since the beginning of my mission because a wise temple president counselor told me to remember what goes on in this room, meaning the sealing room, is what you need to remember to keep your eye on with your investigators and not just baptism which is good but not the end goal. and I've started to forget that as I keep going through the mission not to just focus on Baptism. And what helped even more is that we were bashed by this lady who was so confident in herself of what she believed in being true and before we left she said a prayer for us and I could feel the spirit but not the same as when LDS pray and after Sister Pen was crying and so I was wondering why... well after she said that the spirit we were feeling was the spirit of comfort and she started to cry not because of her prayer but because Sister Pen could picture her in white in the celestial room and she wasn't understanding her full potential and it helped me also realize, oh ya there is so much more for everyone we come in contact with and that's Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's purpose to Bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man and well that should also be my purpose as a direct representative of Jesus Christ. And well I knew that but I need to be better at seeing this with everyone and how God sees them because he Truly does love each and everyone of us so much! Even more than we can comprehend. I don't remember which apostle said this... I feel like it was Holland but don't quote me on it but someone said, "I don't think you will be surprised more when you meet Heavenly Father again on the other side of anything more than you will be to know how much he truly loves you..." and I know this to be true and we need to remember our eternal perspective all the time and know that he does care and wants the best for us and that is why he sent his only begotten son to us, none other than Jesus Christ because of that Love!!!!!

Well I Love you all!!! hope September is great!

August 31, 2016

Hello Everyone!!!!!

So the Cambo word of the week is well.... I can't think of a word I know that I haven't taught you guys yet so I will do one next week..... well okay I know a lot more than what I have taught but its not easy to write out some things because it is just so long...

Oh something I have become obsessed with here are Vietnamese spring rolls... so they aren't fried and are actually healthy! and are wrapped in this rice paper thing... and they are so good! Sister Pen and I will go on spring roll cravings and go and get some from the Asian store! yummm!!!!!

Well so the mission tour was amazing! We had Elder Juan A. Uceda come and Elder Weatherford T. Clayton come and speak to all of us missionaries. So I loved what Elder Uceda said and haha Sister Bird Described it as I love you guys, I love you guys, I love you guys, AND REPENT!, I love you guys...... it is true and he did it with so much love and also he was funny! He also talked about how when we as missionaries were set apart as missionaries, the very hands of Jesus Christ were placed on my head through my stake pres. - President Davidson. and he kept repeating this over and over in different ways to us with tears in his eyes and about how we are indeed literal representatives of Christ and he said it so much better but it was powerful.

Also President Blatter picked 24 missionaries from the Wa-Tac to have interviews yesterday with these general authorities and Sister Pen and I were one of those and I had the opportunity to go with Elder Clayton who was just called as one last conference (speaking of which conference is in a month and I'm so excited!) and was actually a mission president in Canada and started the same time as when President Blatter started so he had it cut short so be of service somewhere else... Well he is a very in tune man with the spirit and when I walked in I shook his hand and the spirit in that room was so strong and I felt like I walked into the temple! He had me say the prayer and that was intimidating but he was so loving and knew exactly what I needed to hear and at the end it was powerful because all of a sudden he started to talk to Heavenly Father as if he was in the room and I wouldn't doubt that he wasn't in the room.. and if not him for sure angels! And he prayed for me and I don't even remember everything but I know how it felt and I felt loved and Protected and felt like I was given added strength!

I know that this is the Lord's kingdom on the Earth and I don't even doubt it... it truly makes me sad when I see families who are great Christian families who could totally be LDS but just don't realize that there is more truth that they are missing and I'm so thankful I know it and am sharing it to the world... I just wish they would listen more because THIS IS SALVATION WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!!! Love you all and hope this week you are able to remember Jesus even more in your every hour this week!

Pic 1 Haha me with a big leaf and Sister Pen thought I looked creepy:)

Pic 2 Haha well Sister Pen tried to pull one of these thingys off... what ever they are called.. and took the whole plant so that was funny!
Pic 3 Sister Pen
Pic 4 Her again!
Pic 5 I made friends with this horse and it was cute because we prayed by the horse before we started to knock and with its head it kept pushing my arm to pet and as soon as I would (after the Prayer) it would look away.... he was funny!

This is a part of an email I wrote to my mom when she mentioned getting emotional while reading my letters, "Oh man it's okay... haha its funny Sister Pen is pretty bad when someone else is testifying and they start to cry then she starts to cry and says don't cry.. its pretty funny and ya it is a cool experience and I was talking to pres. and he was like "Well you have had an interview with a bishop, stake president, mission president, and now a general authority." and I said ya I'm working my way up:) it was funny but true... pretty cool!"
