Hello Everyone!!!!!
It has been a great week as always! We have been teaching a
guy named Dylan who the Elders found before the transfer. We have been trying
to set up a lesson with him for a while now and it has never quite worked out
till Thursday! He only had about 20 min to meet with us before he had to leave
to pick up his 3 year old son from school. We were also able to have
really great fellowship for Dylan with an awesome family! We taught the
Doctrine of Christ and read in 3 Nephi 27:13-21. He also thought with
Word of Wisdom and having to stop that he had to be perfect but we told him he
doesn't and Christ will take him as he is and make him better. Well Sister
Sanchez was the great fellowship and talked about her Word of Wisdom trial and
she was really able to relate to Dylan in a way Sister Kramer and I couldn't
and we were able to put him on date for May 21st! We kept having 5 min visits
and he was so excited to be able to wear his suit before it gets too hot and
bring his son, etc. he is great but then on Sunday he didn't show up and it was
from personal family matters so that was Dumb!!! but we are hoping to be
able to put him back on date tonight:)
We also met Linn who isn't a member but has had a rough
couple of years and had been praying for someone to help her.... She asked for
hopefully Mormon Missionaries..... Well so we walked up to the door that
was wide open and she asked who we were ands she was so ecstatic that we showed
up:) It is super sad because one day her husband didn't want to live with her
anymore and didn't want to pay child support so got her in this legal mess to
where because he has the money she hasn't seen her 3 daughters in about 4 years
and there Dad has Brainwashed them to where they don't want her because the dad
bribes them to stay away..... Well she is kind of a paper hoarder and has saved
all of her daughters papers from school to church and it is a big mess! so we
have been helping her sort her girls papers so she can eventually scrap book
them..... Anyways she loves her Daughters so much you can just tell by the way
she talks about them and holds on to these papers because this is all she has
left of them. She isn't super interested in joining the church but she should
she is one of the most Faithful Christens I've met! We are going to continue to
help her next week before she has to get kicked out of the house because she
house hops... Its so sad!!!
I'm so thankful for the Gospel and for the continued joy
that comes from living it! Love you all so much!
