HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!!
So I had a great Easter here! It was probably one of my
favorites! So Saturday night I felt like we should go to these apartments and start
knocking. There were kids in the court area playing and having fun and while we
were at a door this girl comes up to us and says "What are you
doing?" So we told her we are missionaries teaching people about Jesus
Christ and inviting people to church. So we found out her name is Joslynn and
she is 9 then we met her sister Bailey who is 8 and also another neighbor girl
named Jacee who is 4 and so we gave them all pictures of Jesus Christ and also
a Book of Mormon and a Restoration pamphlet and they were all super excited!
All 3 of them wanted to come to church and so we said that they would need to
talk to there parents about it and Joslynn ran to ask her dad super excited to
come to church for Easter. And cute Jacee wanted to go so bad she almost cried
but her mom said no. Well Joslynn came back and said that she begged her dad
and he finally said yes and so we wanted to go and ask their Dad to just make
sure it was okay and he came out and said it was fine and that he has work so
he can't come but it would be cool to have them go for Easter.
Well So the next day we were planning on going by to walk
the girls to church but worried they somehow wouldn't be able to come but at
9:15 the Dad called and asked if we were still planning on picking the girls up
and walk them to church at 9:15 and also if his son can come too and we said of
course he can! So we walked to the apartments from the church to get them and
they were waiting for us and the girls came running up to us super excited.
Bailey said that she couldn't wait to be able to wake up in the morning because
she knew she would get to come to church! And that just about melted my heart!
We met the oldest named Ryan who is 10 and they are just all so cute and well
behaved! So it was also Stake Conference yesterday which is different but works
but with it being 2 hours we brought coloring books and things for the kids to
be doing for the whole time and they loved it... we mostly played tick-tac-toe
and the dots game with them. President and Sister Blatter also came and spoke
and Sister Blatter was so cute with them and kept telling us that they are
golden and invited them to also eat ice cream with us missionaries after and
they loved it!
We also went back that night to teach those 3 about Joseph
Smith and just read the kid's version of the Book of Mormon with them on it and
they loved it and were all wanting to read the rest at home. Oh also during Stake Conference one of the songs we sang for the stand up hymn was I'm Trying to
be Like Jesus and the 3 of them were following along and started to pick up on
how it went and were singing along and it just brought tears to my eyes about
how this is what it is all about! The Dad texted us also and said thanks so
much for taking them they loved it and also said it was their favorite part of
the day!
Bailey, Joslynn, and Ryan and me and then Sister Romney in the back.
Getting ice cream and I don't know what I'm doing ....
Then all of us again also with Sister Rust and Monson!
